Annie works primarily with adults to assess and manage communication and swallowing difficulties. She has worked for over 15 years in a hospital environment providing neurological rehabilitation services, and has a particular interest and skill set in working with communication changes following a stroke, as well as with clients presenting with neurodegenerative diseases (e.g. Parkinson’s Disease).

Annie takes a person-centred approach to help you achieve personally relevant and meaningful goals. She works effectively with your family and other key supports to provide holistic and multidisciplinary services.

How does your background shape the way you work?

Annie has many years of experience and has worked across a variety of clinical settings including hospitals, community health facilities, home health settings and schools. Annie is a very patient, gentle and pragmatic clinician who will work with you to achieve your goals. While her childhood dream to become a musical theatre performer didn’t eventuate, she loves to incorporate music into sessions to help facilitate communication and connections.

What is your approach to working with people?

Annie provides evidence based speech pathology services, with empathy, kindness, flexibility and good humour. She feels building good rapport with clients and their families is an essential ingredient for successful outcomes, and provides a person-centred approach.
