Celebrating World Social Work Day 2025
Did you know that social workers play a huge role in making our communities stronger, more connected, and more supportive? Every year, we take a moment to recognise their hard work on World Social Work Day, and in 2025, it’s happening on March 18!
World Social Work Day is coordinated by the International Federation of Social Workers and this year’s theme is “Strengthening Intergenerational Solidarity for Enduring Wellbeing”. Through this theme, we’re focusing on the power of different generations working together. Whether it’s younger people learning from older generations or families supporting one another, strong connections between different age groups help create a better future for everyone.
What is World Social Work Day about?
World Social Work Day is a global event that highlights the incredible work social workers do every day. It’s a chance to raise awareness about social justice, human rights, and the importance of strong, supportive communities. This year’s theme reminds us that we all have something to offer, such as wisdom, energy, or ideas, and that we’re stronger when we work together.
How social workers make a difference
Social workers help people through life’s challenges, whether that’s dealing with tough family situations, finding support for mental health, or navigating services like the NDIS. They work in schools, hospitals, aged care services, and community programs, making sure people of all ages get the help they need.
At Therapy Pro, we have social workers ready to support you and your loved ones.
Our team of experience social workers support their clients to navigate systems and connect with their wider communities. Here are a selection of client stories to learn more about how social workers make a difference to their clients’ lives:
- The Social Worker Role in Disability
- How An NDIS Social Worker Supports Participants
- The Crucial Role of Social Work in Domestic and Family Violence

If you or someone you know could use support, please remember that help is available.
