About the 5+1 Provisional Psychology Internship Program
Therapy Pro is excited to launch our 5+1 Provisional Psychology Internship Program supported by grant funding from the Department of Health and Ageing.
This program provides a structured and supported pathway for Provisional Psychologists to gain registration while making a difference.
The program offers 85 internships over four years with a focus on placements in Queensland (with limited placements available in NSW & VIC).
Successful applicants will be employed by Therapy Pro during their internship year, receive comprehensive primary and secondary supervision, and a range of professional development opportunities, all gaining exposure to high-demand settings such as child and youth services, community mental health, and regional locations.

Essential Criteria
The following criteria outline the eligibility for applicants:
- Positions are open to candidates who have completed their Master of Professional Psychology (5 years of study) and now looking to undertake their supervised internship year.
- Provisional Registration with AHPRA.
- Adherence to child safety compliance.
- As part of the program, some positions are prioritised for applicants who identify as First Nations, and/or from CALD backgrounds, and/or from regional and remote areas (MMM 3-7 locations).

Yes, while this grant initiative will support the majority of placements in Queensland, Therapy Pro also has established teams in Sydney and Melbourne. You can apply for any location, especially if you may consider a relocating to Queensland.
