Get to know Sarah L
I can support clients who want to improve the way they feel, act, and behave, who want to enjoy better relationships with others or who want to get out and involved in community more easily.
I have particular professional expertise in working with children, adolescents and adults who have intellectual impairment and mental health issues and with people affected by foetal alcohol syndrome.
Twenty years ago I was a car mechanic in England, fascinated by what went on under vehicles’ bonnets. My career transition and progression began in Mount Isa when my husband I became foster carers. I have lived experience of raising a child with profound intellectual and psychiatric challenges. I became a support worker, then a counsellor and ultimately a clinical psychologist.
